Insomniacs,?shift workers and jet-lagged travellers can now see their way to getting the sleep they need — by wearing a pair of special glasses.
Psychologist Leon Lack at Australia’s Flinders University invented the Re-Timer, a device that uses light therapy to regulate the wearer’s circadian rhythm, which signals the body when to sleep and when to wake, Reuters reported.
Light therapy is not new, but in contrast to the big lamps often used, the Re-Timer places?small, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) close to the user’s eyes.
Worn like an ordinary pair of spectacles, the device is adjustable and mimics the effects of sunlight.
The Re-Timer retails for about US$300.?
